Cinematic Rebellions: AI and the New Auteur

Abstract

This presentation explores the evolving boundaries of cinematic authorship. By drawing a historical parallel between the emancipatory spirit of the French New Wave and today’s digital revolution, it examines how modern creators are using technology to reclaim artistic control from rigid industry systems. Ultimately, the talk navigates the dual nature of artificial intelligence: as a disruptive force that threatens traditional creative foundations, and as a radical, diegetic tool for exploring absurdity and new dimensions of storytelling.
